Around Cork

Cork, have a very active Model Club (Link) ! It's also one of the biggest club in Ireland. They also organize the 2000 F3A World Championship ( won by CPLR... Cocorico !!  ).

KINSALE :

1/2 hrs from Cork City Center, it was my first meeting in Ireland ( The Cork Glide In.. each year in April).

Go to Kinsale and head to Kinsale Head. Go to the golf Course. When you are at the Golf course, the slope is behind you, at around 1 km on the road. On the second photo below, the golf club is on the left. You can land behind you on the field, or in front of you, parallel to the slope, between you and the slope. You have a nice landing spot here.

The site have a very laminar wind ( from the sea..) and you can fly all range of models ( from foamies to 4mtrs and more)

MACROOM :

Place of my second Glider Fly In... Nearly 1 hrs from Cork City Center..

Wonderful slope, but you have to climb 1/2 hrs the mountain with the glider in order to fly... But do it !! This slope is fantastic !

You can fly all types of gliders here, with a huge space for landings.
