CORK GLIDE-IN 2005

Let's go ! Wake up at 5 am, all gliders in the car and let's drive to Cork for the Annual Glide-in. ( in fact, the only Glider meeting I know in Ireland...It's a shame when you see all the slopes and beautiful sites to fly gliders all over Ireland !...Thanks again to the dynamism of the Cork Air Model Club ! )...

So... Once again, the meeting point was Noel Barrett's model shop in Cork City Center. We head to Kinsale and wait for the others to arrive... This year, a lot of fog and no wind in the morning, but people still continuing to arrive in the site to fly... Traditional hello to everybody, tea, coffee, cakes... So, the beginning of a very nice day ! ( as usual in the Cork Glide In)

Unfortunately, the fog will stay on the site until around 12.00. but the big issue, this year, was the wind...No or not enough wind, but people with very light machine were able to fly... It was the time for an electric glider / plane !!. The wind start to blow up at around 1pm, and I just had enough time to setting up my DG and launch ( thanks Ralph !)  and the wind goes back to... nothing. Then, the wind change direction, and it was time to leave  :o(

Once again, and even if the weather was not with us at all, this was a great day out, and I want to thanks again all the Cork Club ( Ralph, Jacky etc etc ) for this excellent day of flying !
