GWS Formosa

Wing Span : 900 mm

Length : 912 mm

Wing Area : 16.5 dm2

Motor : GWS 350C / DS

Prop : 9*7 or 10*4.5

Battery : 3S LiPos (polyquest)

My latest addition to my fleet... This time, and for change, an electric plane ( there is not always wing isn't it ?!  :o)  )

So, I choose the Formosa because it's cheap ( ahhh money !) and, most important, it's hard to find hard comments about this model ! That's a sign !

So, the Formosa is nearly finish, just the radio to put on... And so far, that was a joy to build ! In fact, it's a big plastic model, and what I've really appreciated, is that everything is furnish with the model ! You just need epoxy, and that's all ! Even the world famous ugly wheels are here ! The building manual is an example of what some other manufacturers have to copy... Simply perfect. I'll keep the GWS motor for the first flight, and I'll certainly move to Brushless after, but I want to try it as it is. More photos and comments will come, but so far, I like it !

Update !!

Welcome back folks !

So, The Formosa is now ready and wait for the maiden flight !

Just waiting for my new battery pack ( 3S Lipos Polyquest, 1500mah, up to 24Amps...  :o)  )

Some details of the cockpit and the closure / retain system....

Ok, Take a pen, and put the paint limit in the foam...

Here is the paint I used for the Formosa... Static models paint Humbrol Enamel... Gloss finish... Perfect... Oh, By the way... note the RC Pilot Magazine who announce the victory, once again of CPLR at the 2005 F3A World Championship...  :o)

On the way... Almost finish...

Tadaaaaaa !
