Hi All
Well what a fantastic day on the slope, winds reaching 35mph and blue skies.
Richard and I both flew our mdm fox gliders and all I can say is WOW! what a great model, looks great in the air and flys in a scale manner. I could'nt fly the little Lalysee wing, the wind was just to strong for it, even the Skyhawk had problems pushing forward in the lift. Here are a few pics from today, I think Richard has more photos and some video to post also.
This is the little Lalysee with a nice set of sharp teeth errrrrrr!
Richard readys the Fox for the big maiden
Happy man, look at the smile on his face or is that relief?
Look at this happy man after my maiden with the flyfly Fox
I kid you not, this is a real photo of where the Fox landed without any damage, look at the size of those stones, F/*~ Me what a lucky man!!!

Next day Monday for the slope and more of the same great winds and lift can't wait

i spent all day packing 6 packs of bap :( hoping the weather keeps up now til monday now :D
Happy Days:
Lucky landing?……no,… a spot landing between two rocks is pure skill I’d say John.
East winds forecast for Monday, 25 - 35 mph, can’t fly Big L. on easterly’s, so I’ll be checking out Slieve Gallion instead. :D
Probably drive up tomorrow afternoon, stay overnight in Dungannon or Cookstown, and on to the slope Monday morning! What time lads? :?:
You must promise to be gentle with me though,………I’m only a simple Englishman.
Just let me get at those winds!!! 8)

(Really silly question this, but I ask it in earnest. Is there an open border between RoI. and NI, or will I need my passport?)
Richard Boyd:
Hi Paddy English man, (Keith) the border is open and no security checks !!!!!
You will not even realize you have passed into the North except the changes on the road signs from Kmph to Mph !
There are a few nice Hotels in Newry like the channal court, or if you want Dungannon,,, there is the Cohannon Inn which is more a Motel with a bar restaurent at the front, it is situated about a 10 min drive from the town and it is cheaper than a hotel, there are a few B&B's also around the town area. Cookstown has the Glenavon Hotel, POSH ! Greenvale Hotel , plus B&B's. I have the kids so sorry I am unable to be of help tonite with accomodation.
If you like we could meet you were ever you are staying in the morning and this will leave your good wife Mandy the car for the day to fill with shopping.
Cookstown will be the better town for her to shop.
Tell her to take advantage of some really good bargains.
If you meet alot of American GI soldiers in jeeps etc. please donot get alarmed, Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday is the GI gathering in Moneymore.
My number is 07787368449 and give me a shout.
Safe journey Keith,
Richard
