Frsky 2.4 Conversion

billscottni:
Well, I finaly decided that I should give this new 2.4 a try.

I've ordered a two way Frsky hack module from GiantCod and a couple of rx's. These have been despatched and should be with me in a day or two.

I intend to initially mount it in it's own little box externally and connect up through the trainer port on my Multiplex MC303 in a similar manner to one of the M-Link modules. If it all goes OK and I decide to make the switch over to 2.4 completely, I'll hard wire it inside the case.  :?:

WIll keep you updated

billscottni:
Got home tonight and the bits had already arrived from GiantCod

Here's what was ordered:

1TX telemetry Hack module
1 8 Channel telemetry capable RX
1 4 Channel standard RX

Maplins tomorrow for a small case to put the hack module, aerial & bind switch in, plus a 7 pin DIN plug for the trainer port

Richard Boyd:
Hi Bill, be careful as any adaption may void your BMFA insurance !
We had a problem with this in the past , but over came it as the electronics guy was able to certify his adaption.
Hopefully the rules may now be relaxed as these modules are being widely used.

Fred:
Hey Bill,

Do you have the schematic for the MPX ppm etc plug ?

On another note, I'm going to receive this for evaluation :

Hub and sensors are already on the way to me  :D

billscottni:
Thankd Fred & Richard.

Can't see what the diference is between this and plugging a spektrum module in to any TX and they're accepted. As you say Richard with them being widely available I guess the regulation has been relaxed a little. Also I think it's the same thing as the little orange RX's. As long as I do my checks properly before flight and ensure everything is OK I think I'll be OK

Fred, yes I have the pin outs for the Multiplex, so can probably get going today as  bought a little case for it and plug last night at Maplins
