1/3 scale Ka3

=P~ =P~ =P~ =P~ =P~ =P~ . That looks sweet, well at least from 2 meters away :P  . Are those registration numbers vynal stickers or were they painted on with vynal maskes?
Fred:
Thanks Stephan :D I have a pilot for it, that was just a quick setup in the garden (no time to put the struts too!)
Alan, there is both ! I had a bit of a missap when painting the registration number...
So Anthony cutted me stickers (I guess this is vinyl, really thin anyway !) for the other half ! but you can't notice the difference, except that one side if you look carefully, it's less clean ! :!:
Kevin O'Donoghue:
Hey Fred.
I've been quietly following your progress over the last few weeks. Nice woodwork on the Ka3. :) The Mustang reminds me of a similar model I had years ago from the US. It was a nice flier but it needed a good blow. Ralph had a Komet by the same crowd if I recall.
The iminent first flight of a 4m Fox in Cork got me to to thinking about my Blanik last night. It's been in the box since it arrived with the postman six months ago.
Stephan's comment about a pilot got me thinking about one for the Blanik. Do you have a source of full body pilots, maybe from France ? Mr Axels creations are the bees knees, but too expensive for my tastes. I might check the Retroplane site for links.
Keep up the good work ....... and don't forget the CMAC glide-in on the 20th .....

Hi Kevin!
Nice to be able to "talk" to you via this medium!
I simply adore Foxes, and have been trying to make up my mind about which one to get for a long while, my problem being I have never seen a decent size scale one if the flesh! It seems to me that they are BIG planes, if you just go by wingspan alone, due to the relatively big fuses. Those fat fuses could also make launching (particularly on your own) tricky. It would be great if you could post some info about yours, and pictures would be even greater :D Maybe even start a tiny little thread of your own?
I really enjoyed last years CMAC glide-in, wild horses and wagon ropes won't keep me away this year :D . Whilst I'm praying for SW (so we can fly at that amazing spot at the Old Head of Kinsale), do you have venues close by where you can fly if it isnt blowing SW?
Cheers
Chris
Fred:
Hi Kevin,
Thanks for the KA3 ! :D
I have a few sources for scale full body pilots in France and in the US.
I can't remember the website names, but I'll have a look and let you know.
I actually have a 1/3 and 1/4 pilots from the US. They are looking good, but are in semi-hard latex. I can bring them in the glide-in for you to have a look. I still have to figure out what to do with them, and if we can modify them at some extend for us... :?:
But they are way cheaper than the Axel ones !
Or if you are a few looking for pilots, why not make a mold to make them ?
I haven't translated it yet, but here is my technique to make them... Photos are enough to understand !
They are made with PU, very light ! That's also really easy to do !
You also have links in the thread for sourcing pilots.

Enjoy ! :D And let me know if you need something to be translated !
About the Fox, why not doing a thread here ? We really never hear from you guys !
Chris, I have a Fox, but small one (2.20mtrs).. I don't fly it anymore :?:
