CMAC Glide-in 2008
cvanscho:
Still looks like NORTH-EAST across the entire island Sunday. IMO Mweelin does not work in that wind direction, Joe :?: - or are you thinking of flying off the "back" slope??
Fred:
Hi Chris,
Yeah, this is the back slope.
Nice view, but the landing zone... :!:
Bring crunchies and small gliders !
I'm up for combat anyway :D BANZAAIIIIII !
cvanscho:
Hmmmmm :?: I've flown there once; now I know what Ralph means by the need for defibrillators  !
Ralph, we will need ladders or steps to climb over the fence?
Fred:
No, not as far as I remember, we had nothing to climb over and that was fine.
Or they may have put more fences (flew there 2 years ago I think)
Kevin O'Donoghue:
Lads,
Just looked at the weather forecast for tomorrow and they are promising ENE at just under twenty mph. If this pans out we will be at the back slope on Mweelin. This is a nice rounded bowl overlooking the road. Landing areas are poor - not really big white glider country. Bring a zagi or other foamy and maybe a knackered old 60" / 2m crunchie !
Give Ralph a ring in the morning to see which may to travel. The lads are meetin early outside Noel's shop in Washington Street and will select a slope then based on the wind.
I have a family party tonight, but head allowing I should follow on your heels.
See you tomorrow ...............
