Happy Days:
I like George’s Middle Phase. It’s very much like a Phase 6 except with a High Mounted Wing and greater dihedral. Good choice that, George.
I think you must have had your Bird of Time on a diet?!!! I can see all it’s ribs!
Looks like a good time was had by all 8) Goos to see!
gerryb:
very light winds on the day (c.5kph) meant we were permanently scratching for lift and anyone who brought electric models were glad they did.
as you can see from the photos, we had a good turn out of about 20 model pilots and i'd like to thank all those who travelled to be with us on the day.
flying started about 10.30am and continued all day until about 5.30pm, at which time everyone packed for home.
another enjoyable day on tountinna.
gerryb:
yea keith, the middle phase is one of chriss foss' designs and actually has an alternative aileron wing so the raw beginner can progress without too much expense.
re the b-o-t, i find minimum diets for floaters helps to keep them aloft in light airs. no point in over feeding them i think you'll agree.
gerryb:
finally, occasionally, we share the sky with our full size bretheren......more next time......
gerryb:
recently on tountinna...........my own asw 28
pete can't make up his mind which model to fly (sorry about picture quality). that's a very old algebra in pete's left hand and the red model is a mini phase, i'm nearly sure. don't know what the others are.
