johnfireball:
Just completed my latest build from an old freeflight plan available on outerzone. Setup for rudder elevator and electric power. Hope to maiden this weekend.
John.

Happy Days:
It looks very neat John.  You like powering free flight models don’t you.

I’ve never seen an elastic banded low wing model before. :?:  Did you make the pilot as well?

Of course, you know it wont fly don’t you.   It’s French!

Very nice John. 8)

Keith, free flight models make excellent electric conversions. They're generally designed light and don't need beefed up to take the vibrations of an ic engine   :?:

johnfireball:
Well Keith she flew although somewhat unsteadily (needs some trimming). My carved pilot returned to earth with brown trousers. It's banking to the right all the time even with a trim tab fitted to correct. There is no right thrust on the motor and if anything I was expecting it to turn left due to slight twist in wing. I'm puzzled :?:

Happy Days:
WELL DONE John, at least she flew :D !!! And you have a picture to prove it

As for her tendency to roll to the right,…….I don’t really understand all the factors about thrust angles. (I’ve never studies fluid mechanics) All I know is that some models need angled thrust (normally right thrust) but it could need to be left, right, up, down, or any combination.

Of course it might not be prop thrust that’s causing your problem. Prop thrust problems normally become greater or lesser when the power is changed. If your model continues to turn to the right even when the power is off, (when she's gliding) then the prob is something to do with the airframe or balance I’d guess. :?:
