A Tale of two Keiths'

jumbo:
Hi all, haven't been active on here at all (moving job, house and a pregnant misses is taking its toll on my free time).

Have only been out flying a handful of times in the last few months with the most recent being yesterday off the cliffs at Howth. The wind wasn't great but it was blowing straight onto the cliff I was at. I took some ballast off my little homebuilt wing and through her out, got a bit of lift and done a few passes before bringing her in (I should of stopped then as the wind wasn't great) however I pushed my luck :!: and decided to throw her again. A few seconds after launch the wind/lift died and the model hadn't enough altitude to make it back to a safe landing. She landed half way down the cliff face and after a few minutes of contemplating climbing down to save it I realised my own safety is probably more important than that little model. Lesson learned don't fly over the sea when the wind isn't right.

Going to have to get back in the workshop (my new house now has a dedicated workshop   ) and get another slope soarer knocked together. Hopefully can make it down to the big L before winter.

Happy Days:
My word, you do believe in jumping in at the deep end don’t you.

New job, new house, and starting a family  . Lots of things for you to think about there. Although having babies is nothing to be concerned about, Justin. Having kids is a piece of cake. I slept right though the birth of my last child!

A dedicated workshop, 8) ….Now there’s a sensible chap! One has to have priorities in a new house, doesn’t one?

Sorry to hear you lost one of your ‘non human’ creations. :(  We all make mistakes….I launched one of my models for a second flight on Saturday,…….then realized I’d forgotten to switch the Rx on first…….Yup, that’s right. It crashed!

Hopefully we’ll be seeing you at the Glide-In at the end of this month. Might be the last chance you get  to meet up with sensible like minded people before you become immersed in the demands of “Domestic Bliss” for the next twenty years.

(Justin,….."Another one bites the dust" )

Glide in, end of month, BBQ. Yes I think I will have to pencil that one in my calendar. Where is everyone staying? Is there a thread made on the forum for it?

billscottni:
I've some bad news Keith.
After surgery in March I'm fit again, so:

I'm coming to Mt Leinster at the end of the month!!!

stephen.shannon:
A1 Bill it'll be great to see you there....    :D

Justin,  It's on the 27th and 28th of September, looking forward to it myself... I'd imagine moss house is still the usual venue for the night tincture and a spot of craic
 :D
