RC Gliding Magazine.

haydenc:
As the weather has again conspired against me I must find another outlet for my RC Gliding enthusiasm.

Maybe someone out there knows.
Is there a magazine dedicated to RC Gliding.
I have read copies of RCME, RC Model World and RC Model flyer.
They each contribute small sections on Gliding.
But is there a dedicated mag that I am missing.

And another thing.

I am about to venture into the model building area.
Have not been there since, well a long time
Maybe the late 60s
I must be getting old.
Anyhow have ordered plans for a 1.5M K8.
They appeared in June 2005 copy of RC Model Flyer.

I was considering enlarging the plan slightly to maybe 2M.
Anyone have experiencing of doing this.
No point in me making the same mistakes as others before me.

Thanks in advance and hope the weather picks up for all.

Hey Cha
On the mag front. As far as I know there is no english language rc gliding magazine. There used to be QFI (quiet flight international) which was good. Only glider stuff. All aspects, Scale, PSS, F3F, F3B etc.. The editor died in a motorcycle accident I think and soon after if became QEFI (quiet and electric). That was early 2000s. The glider content now is pretty minimal. There is a Chris Williams scale section and maybe a review now and again. Not a lot more than that. Such a shame! Fred was recently given a heap of old QFIs which I am now hoarding and working my way through. A little out of date on the tech front but a lot is still very relative.

Other than that, there is Quiet Flyer (U.S.). Although, last I heard that was going out of print too. Like QEFI the content is mostly electric rather than glider.

I would happily subscribe to a mag just for RC gliding. Pity really. I guess this here interweb is putting an end to a lot of rags!
Doh!!

Its a pity that the people who publish the German RC Gliding magazine "Aufwind" don't translate it into english. I would certainly subscribe to that and I'd say a lot of other people would to.

Thanks for the replies Joe and Alan.
I suppose if there was a market someone would have filled it.
Will stick with the ones I currently can get and be happy.
At least now I know I am not missing something.
Unfortunately I have no German so thats that.
Thanks again lads the replies.

I could scan some of the old QFI articles and share them if anyone was interested. Might take me a little while to get round to it. Anything in particular people would be into, Scale, PSS, F3F etc..???
