JohnPearson:
Looking good phil, the panel lines set a model off. Have not got round to producing any decals for the panels yet, just can't get any time at the moment to complete the various vents and panel drawings. Send me a few pics when you finish the weathering.

Hi Phil,
Really nice model. for weathering you cant beat an airbrush but a similar effect can be achieved with water based paint and a sponge used with very light dabbing. If not happy you can wipe it off with a damp cloth and start again. Don't use pure black but mix up some white with very little black adding as required to make a subtle darkish grey (depends on model colour) until happy with the effect.Once done clearcoat over and paint sealed.
John.

Hawk172:
Weathering just about complete on all the flying surfaces now, Ive used various shades of brown, orange and grey to try and recreate the effect of a few hundred hours of low level flying in Peru.

Maybe just a few more oil stains on the underside and she's done ready for the clearcote.  The trick is knowing when to stop! Sometimes less is more, as they say...

It's also never easy doing the weathering indoors under artificial lighting, it looks very different once under sunlight!  Anyway, its only a bit of fun in an attempt to take the shine off the model.
