Gliders > Aerotow
take -off dolly
mick a:
this ka3 is no longer .....sadly :(
tried to aerotow , and not enough experience on my side
pulled up to much , snapped the line at all most vertical at about 6 metres up
wings all good and rear of fuse
so will have to build new front end
Nhalyn:
Sorry to come here after the action, but I don't understand why you need a dolly for a Ka3 ? I don't understand the problem with the wing struts ? :-\
Most of times this sort of old gliders take off very easy and quickly, few meters, with a guy maintaining the wing horizontal for take off...
I wish you courage for the repair...
mick a:
just wanted to make smoother as our field is a bit bumpy
the trolley worked fine , it was me who over imputted and pannicked , from behind it looked liked a dolphin rising and diving
we live and learn , repair is under-way
Nhalyn:
If your field is "bumpy", it's another reason not to use a dolly... Your dolly bump on the field, the glider bump on the dolly, twice the effects ! :-\
Fred:
I glued the dolly to the glider :)
Problem solved! ::) ::)
