Remove Monokote

(1/2) > >>

manolo torres:
I remove the old MonoKote a former K-6. The wing is foam lined Samba so I can not apply too much heat to remove the plastic. Upon removal it remains adhered to the wood white pigment and do not know how to remove it.
Do any of you know how I can remove it without exposing the foam to irreparable damage?
Thank you very much for your advice.

Sorry for my bad English. Use an online translator. :-[

johnfireball:
Try removing the old remaining glue with cellotape. It's a bit of a tedious process. Not sure how it will work on foam.

John.

manolo torres:
I have not explained well. The wing is foam coated wood Abachi (Samba in Spanish). I will try to remove it with tape as you have given me. Thank you.

gerryb:
i have used sand paper, worked well for me.

abachi=samba=obechi (english)

johnfireball:
You don't have to get it all off if you recover in opaque film as it melds in with the new covering unless you want to recover with transpararent.

John.
