1/3 scale Grunau Baby IIb

JG:
Fred - I knew you would have it sorted  ;) what is the wing span ?

Fred:
WS is 4.6m (1/3 scale :) )

Alright, time for an update!
Received my sheetings! So I started on the wings.
Not much work at this stage. Spars are my usual 8x8mm x2, and all the sub assembly are glued first, like the airbrakes box, servo supports etc etc.
Then, all that is glued on the top spar, upside down as usual.

Bottom spar is glued, so as all the ribs, so photos tonight of this stage! Left to do: False LE after setting the first rib to the correct angle, glue the TE, wing joiner tubes.

And I'll start to have a look at the airbrakes now.

Fred:
Alright, so, after a looonnnggg break on the Grunau, back to it!

Servo trays are glued in place. Elevator servo is under the elevator.
Sheeting of the fuselage has started. All done in 0.6mm plywood, and I am using the same method as my Ka1. It's long and painful (you do twice the work), but I kind of like it, as everything then fits perfectly without any fuss and you do proper wood management also :) (thin plywood is not cheap!)

Rudder has been covered, and already received a coat of varnish. I went with a slightly lighter color, and should be more vibrant once I put 5 of 6 coats of clear on it. Well, that's the plan, works in my head anyway :)
