1/4 Scale Ka-1

Yes I'm making progress with the K8. I hope to have all the major parts attached to the fueslage this week end and I'll take some photos of it. There is still a lot of work to do such as sheeting the tailplane and the fin. But i'm getting their.

Alright, big push this week end on the Ka1 !
First, the ailerons... Really easy.
Separate the ailerons from their supports with a saw or knife...
Glue 10mm balsa on the aileron's LE, sand in shape.
Cut slots for the hinges (Robart type ones here...)
And put in place !

And bottom view before closing the aileron to see the articulation...

And the big day, when I finally started to paint the wings ! :D
Both wings are fine sanded for the last time, and the colored varnish is then applied.
The finishing will be the same as everything else, varnished.. Lots of coats... :D
And once dry, fit everything together in the garden to have a good look before covering...
Looking good !
Next step are the covering, and plug the servos... :D
