Mibo Swift S1 restoration

rogallo:
Well a long time coming. My 20+year old Mibo Swift is in for a good cleanup. Hopefully I will get some inspiration and encouragement here.
Started by stripping the wings to recover. I hate this job....

billscottni:
Looking  good Ralph. Are you softening the glue on the covering first with the hot air gun I see hanging on the edge there?

rogallo:
Hi Bill,
yep I am using the heat gun to help remove the film. Any tips on removing the remaining bits, tried sanding but to no avail.

Is it just the coloured adhesive that's left? If it is I've heard it's possible to arm it up and once it's warm rub kitchen roll on it and then take the whole lot off in one go. Never tried it. Think I'd be more likely to use the heat gun and a scraper.

Fred:
Sound like maintenance season!

That’s the Graupner right? Nice machine I have to say ️
