Vote for me!... If you want!
Happy Days:
Oh Fred, you only got 8.56% of the vote. :( Well at least you didn’t come last.
I noticed that the winner submitted more than one design, so that did increase his chances a bit.
Talking of designs, my latest Phase 6, over which I spent many harrowing hours trying to come up with a design that worked at a distance in both bright and overcast skies, has in fact turned out to do neither very well.
In bright skies there is not enough contrast in the pattern, and in overcast skies it’s not bright enough, (the colours are too dark.) :!:
Oh well, back to the drawing board!
Fred:
Thanks Bill :)
You are supposed to fly relatively close to you in F3F, so I was not thinking that will be a downturn (that was supposed to be the colour of the Renault F1 team by the way   ) but definitively a bad colour scheme for F3J !

Yeah, not bad I think !
But that was nice, it's only a game ! :D
And some great designs / schemes ! Can give some nice ideas for a future model :?:
And thanks to everybody who voted for me, for the design itself, or to help me ! :P :P

perhaps my "poncy" pinks, oranges & greens don't seem so bad now
My pelicano (plank after the B52 in Fred's video), stood out quite well!!

Fred,
never sen a good colour cheme for F3j. At distance they're all silhouettes and you're looking for a flash of recognition of a distinctive scheme in a turn. Important thing is always to be able to differentiate left/right, top/bottom. Pattern is more important than colour.
Fred:
Hi Bill, yep, agree !
I remember my ASW22, first flight, the day was almost miserable, with low clouds and so on (video on the website)... The only thing that was great, is that the wing tips were covered in Orange Glow.. Can see the turns miles away with that ! Plan was to put the same on the rudder, to visualise the 3 "axis" position of the glider without difficulties.
I think Peter have one of his glider like that, with orange glow on the tps and rudder, can see the thing miles away ! (well, almost, but you see what I mean ! :P )
Not pretty but totally fit for purpose !
