Fred:
Hi Bill,
We rarely have events held in Kilakee (ok, never!) mainly because the slope here only works in a small range of Westerlies, and the North is not great either... And this is also one of the most rubbish filled slope you can find ! (yeah, had people trowing empty bottles behind us, and one day, had a guy changing his engine oil on the north slope just behind me... )
Anyway, any flying done this week end ?
Went to Kilakee, the wind was blowing strong, but a bit too much northerly, so have to fly down the valley to have lift. Flew there with Ed and his Vector :D
As for me, had the asw15... A bit too light for this kind of wind, definitively need some ballast when that start to blow 20+ !
Happy Days:
Well, at least you got some flying in. Well done Ed, keep up the good work.
Flying on the Big L. yesterday was just Fantasticle! :D
Wind speed = 25 gusting 35k. Cloudy up to around midday then,……. loads of sunshine with lift extending as far as the eye could see.
No picies I’m afraid (I’ve given up trying to fly and take pictures at the same time) but the new Phase 6 and the Fillip 400 both put in a very good display.
I was using the crow braking to get the Phase to fly backwards, (relative to the slope). It looks kind of weird, ……but fun  . The knack it to keep it high……..just in case!!
Looks like high pressure is going to dominate the scene for the next few days, oh well,……time to tidy up the garden = BORING!
