New Indoor Venues
Brian:
Hi Aidan,
Thanks, I've just ordered some 8x4 & 8x4.3's.
The new packs may be part of the problem as well, my 5000's always take 10 to 15 cycles to get going properly.
The ESC default is 'soft' so I'll try medium later in the week.
This indoor flying is good fun, a real do or die scene.
Make an effort for Fri,, .We got a good deal on the hall but we are the 2'nd cousins there, with GAA activity coming first.
Our official time is 7 to 9 but we may be able to squeeze in after 6.00pm.It would be a pity if you missed out.
Any interest in Sun,, mornings ??.
Brian
Brian:
Hi Aidan,
I got those props today.
You are correct about the out of balance.
However they do seem to pull more but the motor gets warm quickly at high power level. I hope it will be ok.
We'll see of Fri,, or Sun,, .
It will take 30 mins approx for you to get over.

Hey Brian, here’s an idea to get your motor running as efficiently as poss…………
Fit the prop that you want to fly with, and measure the rpm of the prop while also measuring the current being drawn from the battery, at a given throttle setting.
Change the timing and check both prop speed and current drain again.
I’m thinking that the timing setting that produces the lowest current drain for a given prop speed must be the most efficient one. :?:
Dessie, …….what are you doing on this forum???
THIS forum is for civilized pilots, not power hungry morons who fly “Breezes” at people!  (Not that I can talk, following my performance last Sunday.  )
My new plane still hasn’t arrived. Don’t think I’ll be flying indoors this Friday night I’m afraid.

It should be fine providing you're not spending long at full throttle. I'm sure that won't be a problem indoors but be careful if you fly it outdoors too.
