Setup advice for my Electric Glider

JohnPearson:
Hi Anthony

I have a 400 brushed motor and speed controller lying in the workshop, I never use it anymore, therefore if you want it, let me know. It was used in a zagi wing, some years ago, still works, I think? e-mail your address and I will post it to you.

IceWind:
Check on the speed control but if it's sized for the speed 400 it'll could be short for the 700.
The speed 400 can "eat" from 4 to 17A depending on the version. (4,8v, 6v or 7,2v)
This 700 is a Amp's eater it can go up to 65A still if you go direct with a ~10'' prop it should require ~35A.

I'm not sure if I got it here if so I can get you a JETI 35, it is also attached to a paperweight. (speed 400) :)

John : Thanks for the offer. I have a speed 400 brushed motor with speed controller at the moment on another plane. This motor would not be powerful enough to pull this plane.

IceWind : Thanks also, I am doing some research on this and will find out what speed controller suits.

Thanks everyone for the advice, I am checking some things on the net which hopefully will give me the info i need, will post results later when/if i get a good solution.

Update

A 60 amp brushed speed contoller is recommended but I have been told that since i am using a 10-6" folding prop that i would get away with a 45 amp brushed speed controller along with my 8 cell battery.

Will keep browsing the net, plenty of advise/tips out there once you dig a bit deeper.
