Slope Event in Northern Ireland 3rd Oct 2010

<< < (2/2)

Fred:
Cheers Bill,

Can you send me the kmz here : fred@gliderireland.net ?
Blocked at work, I will not access it before tonight (on the road most of the day  :!: )

billscottni:
Will do

billscottni:
Sundays forecast is currently 10mph at Moneymore, add at least 5mph up the hill. But, it's from the South which is NOT the best direction. The Southerly slope we have access to doesn't produce great lift.

If you're wanting to attend a NI slope event, unless the wind changes either East or West, this may not be the best event to come up for.

Hopefully, the wind will shift a little to one of the better slopes  :?:

gerryb:
thanks for the update bill. i'll give it a miss this time, hope to get to ni event next year. gb

billscottni:
Well only four of us turned out today. Forecast and previous engagements reducing the numbers dramatically.
Wind was SSE blowing around 12, but very variable. Not a bad day out and three hours very enjoyable flying.......................... apart from breaking the aerial on my 3030!! B*****r  :!:
