Ron:
This has to be the classic gliding video/movie.
Bit before your time though Fred - 1968.

Happy Days:
Trust you to dig out the ‘old’ clips Ron.

Nice bit of gliding though, what’s the model?

K.

Ron:
I gather that yer man did all the flying for real.
But then that was what he was like. Did all the motorcycle stuff as well in various films.
Wouldn't be allowed these days.

Not sure what the glider is though.
Anyone able to identify it?

Ron

Fred:
That one is easy  :D
1-26 schweizer

Gliders are C25.

Happy Days:
I knew you’d know the answer Fred.  (Your knowledge of these matters never ceases to amaze me.)

Ron, Steve McQueen did most of his driving and riding stunts, but I didn’t know he could fly as well.

BTW (A little off topic I know)vis The Great Escape………

Quote: "Insurance concerns prevented McQueen from performing the film's widely noted motorcycle leap, which was instead done by his friend and fellow cycle enthusiast Bud Ekins who resembled McQueen from a distance. When Johnny Carson later tried to congratulate McQueen for the jump during a broadcast of The Tonight Show, McQueen said, "It wasn't me. That was Bud Ekins."
