Hi All,
Flew my spitfire at Killakee slope yesterday I was most surprised at how well it went considering it was not very windy, under force 3 . It doesn,t penetrate very well (guess due to thick wing section and big wing area) but soars really well. It needed loads of aileron throw to get it turning properly its also quite light at 1kg all up. Looks great zooming around and put a smile on a few onlookers faces. Delighted with it and managed 3 flights without any damage. Have to make a pilot.
John.

Nice one john! the spit looks great.

If you want to obtain better penetration, add some lead to the Cof G position, My F4 flew O.K. on its maiden, however with a few grams of lead added at the cofg under the wings, the model's performance was transformed to a great flying jet, which would penetrate in a good wind and soar nicely in the lift.

Hi John,
Yea I think weight is the way to go for windier weather( I think it would need an awful lot)   but so surprised how it soared better than my thin winged gliders.
