Ventus 2c 1:6 model of the Shempp-Hirth sailplane.
Molded fuse with sheeted foam wings by Baudis Models (available from http://www.topmodel.fr)
Again looks good and flys good.
Had some problems at the start.Stalled very easily and very nastily. Was dissapointed with it.Big thanks to Fred.He advised me to change the incidence angle of the Stab.Added 3mm of balsa and it's like flying a different plane. Thanks again Fred!.May be a common problem?.Seen some people on RCGroups with the same problem.
Nice in light conditions on the slope.Lookin forward to getting a tow!
No winglets in the pics.Got two right winglets with it.All good now :D

It's a sweet looking glider. I'd love to get one of those some day when I have some more flying experience.
I have a semi scale glider my self, its a Pilatus B4, around 2 meter wingspan. Have'nt flowen it yet, just finished it. I might post some pictures of it soon.

How exactly do you post an image.
-

Hi Alan,
So, to post an Image on the forum (and on most of the forums by the way..) :
You first have to put the image on a website. You can use your own one if you have one, or use a Hosting service such as http://imageshack.us/ that give you a webspace for your image. Choose the 640 x 480 resolution max please, as this is easier to read on the forum.
So, you have your Image URL now, something like :
http://mywebsite/imagename.jpg
On the top of the post, click the Img icon, past the image url, and press ALT P on the keyboard or click on the icon again. et voila !
On the screen, you should have someting like this :
Note that on the top of the little screen where you are typing your message, you have a exemple of the function when you click on the icon.
And here you go !
Let me know if you have any difficulties, and i'll do some screenshots

Hi Joe. Did you get your Ventus directly from Topmodel, or did you get it through a shop in Ireland?
I was looking at the Topmodel website. They have lots of cool scale ships. Some have prity good prices, at least I think they are good prices.
-
That post above is from me. I forgot to log in.
-
Hey Alan.i got mine direct from topmodel.yeah! the prices are pretty good and they have a great selection.i don't go on the site for fear of buying a new glider! :? only problem with topmodel is their service outside of France isn't great.took mine a few weeks to show up!
what glider are you lookin at?
-
Hi ,
Right with what Joe is saying..
The Pb with Topmodel is the expensive shipping price and the delay for receiving your machine...
I've paid a receiver once 35 euros, 30 euros of p&p.. and 4 weeks to arrived...That was my last order in Topmodel...
But depending of what you are looking for, I can have a look for you in France .
Weymuller is very good, Copaero too...

Not looking at anything in particular yet, its just for future reference. Have to get my Pilatus flying properly yet. I also have a new hand launch glider to finish as well. Its called the Long Shot. Its actualy finished now just have to put in the radio gear.
Whats the Ventus like to fly.
-
I was dissapointed when i first got the Ventus.i was my first scale glider and i expected it to fly great.but it didn't.it was difficult to fly and stalled really easily and badly.not what i expected.
i talked to fred about it and he advised changing the incidence of the stab.this totally transformed the Ventus.it's now flys as you'd expect.it can be slowed to a crawl and flown just above stall for termaling and yet it speeds up pretty well too and you can really get it moving.it's not really an aerobatic ship but, with a bit of speed and height all the basics are no problem.high speed dives along the front of the slope are lots a fun as it makes a nice screech/scream as it cut through the air.
found some other people online with a similar problem with the stab incidence.i guess it's an issue with production.have just adjusted the incidence again, as the first time i did it i didn't have a incidence meter.so will have to retrim and balance(incidence affects CoG) next time i fly.
apart from the incidence problem it's a really nice glider to fly (for light to medium lift this what i fly) and it looks great! :D
-
Flew the Ventus today.Stab incidence is set to -1.5.Balanced and trimmed now and it's flying great.very happy with it :D
p.s. did i mention it looks feckin' deadly! :D

Certinaly looks great :D :D . By the way whats the wingspan/scale.
-
It's 2.5 metres which is about 1:6th scale i think.Small compact body and long high aspect ratio wings. It's small on the ground for it's wingspan but,it looks bigger in the air.You can have a look on Sunday! :D :D
