Title: Cork Glidein/Aerotow
Post by: rogallo on June 08, 2018, 15:01:32 PM
Hi Lads,
getting ready for Ger's event tomorrow but to keep you all posted we are running a weekend of slope/towing on July 14th and 15th. Type of flying will depend on the wind, Easterly or Westerly will be towing otherwise we will slope. Also if the winds are slack we will tow or bungee or electrics.

Hope to see you all there

Ralph

So Far Sat and Sunday are looking good for flat field work. We will have a few tugs available to tow from 2.5M up to 5M. A few bungees and a winch if anyone is interested please give us a heads up to charge the battery. Electrics and DLG also welcome.

B-B-Q on the field along with a kitchen and toilet facilities.

Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Thanks Ralph,
I have just booked into the Trident  Kinsale as Eileen has decided to come down for the break.
Would you or anyone else attending by any chance have a spare 40mm x 4mm spinner for a folding prop. I broke mine "cheap Hobbyking unit "at the weekend and have ordered a replacement but not likely to arrive before Friday.
Where are we likely to be meeting up on Saturday can you post coordinates on Friday evening?

See you Saturday

Thanks Ralph
Its for a Hobbyking ASW 28  the motor has a 4mm shaft so if it fits the motor it may do to get the model in the air. I broke mine following a bad launch on MT Leinster last week. Have one on order from Topmodel and it might arrive before we leave for Cork on Friday afternoon.

Last minute update

Wind is good for slope flying all weekend so there is an option for slope flying if people want to. Sat will be flat field with the Sunday being flyers choice.

Hope to see you all soon

To everyone who participated in our glide in I would like to thank you. I know everyone had a great day with plenty of flying and food despite the great drought the our leader Frederic spoke of. I would like to thank especially Richard O'Brien the main tow pilot on the day, without him we would not have had as much fun as we did.

For all of us it was a learning experience, for me in particular, it brought to light the fact for such and event preparation is key.

Anyway I would like to thank everyone who turned up on the day and did a little something to keep things moving.

Looking forward to our next outing

Ralph
