Title: Eye wear
Post by: stephen.shannon on August 12, 2013, 23:24:55 PM
I wear contact lens on the slopes and use Polaroid lens in my shades but I'm finding my eyes drying out in the wind when flying, has anyone had a similar issue and figured out a solution?

To be honest Stephen the only thing i found was to use plenty of saline before the flight and anytime your plane comes down refill your eyes .  :D

I hope this helps.[/quote]

When I fly, it's so beautiful, that I cry!
Keep my eyes wet...

Ok, ok, all that to say, I don't know, I wear glasses  :D  :P

Hi Stephen, just thinking about you problem. :?:

I’m wondering if coming at it from the opposite direction might find a solution. Instead of trying to keeping your eyes moist, why not stop them drying out?
How about a pair of “laboratory” type goggles.  No seriously, think about it.

Of course, you’ll get your leg pulled about only needing a leather helmet and a white silk scarf….but if it worked, who cares! 8)

Yep, I wear ski goggles with an orange tint. Bought cheap in Lidl!!
If it's only a breeze, i wear wrap around shades!

Hi Stephen

I have the perfect set for you,  a set of sun glasses which can be converted into a set of goggles by removing the legs and adding the adjustable strap, you also have extra lens which can be changed to suit the light conditions.
I use these all the time when flying as my eyes suffer from the wind also. I have a new set in the workshop, if you want a set, I will bring them with me to the next flyin, cost about 8 euro.

O.M.G !  ( Keith gasps in amazement.) What a Dude. 8)
(Shame about the receding hairline, but I wont mention that. :P )

You’ll have to decide which tint gives best visibility, but they should stop your eyes from drying out.

Are you coming ‘down’ to Glenbrian this weekend? :?:

Yellow for dull days, brown for slightly brighter & black for sunshine.

That's not a receding hairline! It's a go faster head, same as mine, (although he needs to lose a bit more to keep up with me!)
