Hi There,
The next Rtroplane will be held in the East of France, close to the German border, the 7th and 8th of July.
A few places for the meeting is left, so, if you want to be in the party (remember, one of the biggest Vintage scale glider meeting in Europe! ) have a quick look here : http://www.retroplane.net/retroplane2007/index-eng.htm !
Maybe, if some people are interrested, we can organize a group trip to reduce the cost of the travel. Let's say a week, from wednesday to wednesday... Let me know !
And to finish, here is a view of the slope (from the back... and taken 50mtrs from the camp site. Thanks Stephan if you read this ! )

You need more to motivate you ??

We are back from what is so far, the best retroplane ever ! :D
We will be able to tell our grandchildren "we were there" !
Despite the rain, Retroplane was this year a success, and the conditions on the saturday made all the machines fly !
Sometimes, 9 machines at the same time in the air, but no crashes to be reported due to crowded skys or radio jam
Joe flew my Ka3 for the event, and I don't know how many hours of flight he had, but he is certainly one of the guy who flew the most :D
He also was the camera pilot for the sunday, and even made some German guys happy !
The ISR gazebo on the campsite has been the "retroplane meeting point" for the week (here before people arrive) :

On the friday evening, a static exhibition of the fuselages was made... Not al the machines are here, but you can already see that is going to be a great year !!

The slope ?... Well, one word : WWwwwaaaaoooooohhhh ! :D And the view ! On top, well, 90 pilots, more than 100 machines, all more beautifull than another, and lots of flying !

That was a tough day all round!
That second pic was taken after I'd done the first flight of Rene's Doppelraab.
It flew very well and I manged to land safe and sound.Thats happiness on his face. Pure relief on mine!!
-
:D :D . You did the first flight of his Doppelraab, . He must have been really nervous, a crazy Irish guy doing the first flight of his glider :D :D
-
Yeah! he was too nervous to do the first flight so wanted someone else to do it. Most people were flying mode 1 or was it 3?. He was on mode 2.
Fred said oh Joe will fly it for you! and roped me in.
I was nervous as hell. Don't mind killing my own gliders but someone elses!
Turned out the Dopp flew great and all was fine. I even got a few shot of schnaps in return. All were happy
Rene has since been flying it himself no probs.
-
Well I guess you will have an idea of how your Doppelraab will fly now.
-
I think Alan mean when are we going to see your Doppelraab flying ?? :P
-
Any day now, I swear! Just a few little bits to finish off

No workshop. No building.
