Title: Northern Ireland Area Open thermal Competition

this sunday the 1st June is the NI Area Open Thermal Competition, it will be held at the Belfast playing Fields at Mallusk
Flying will start at 12pm there will be 5 rounds of 10 minutes with one discard and a spot landing
any size of model will do but no electric, winch launch only  
the final will be decided by a two man fly off over two rounds again of 10 minutes and the spot landing
everyone welcome to come and fly or just to watch

Please note we have brought the start time forward to 10am to try and avoid bad weather scheduled for later in the day.

Earlier start time allowed us to get in 4 rounds plus a 2 round 2 man fly off before the rain started - JUST!!

After 4 rounds, Andrew Wallace and Tommy Magee made the fly off. Tommy finishing top after the 4 rounds.

In the first flight of the fly off Andrew got away and stuffed Tommy by almost doubling his time. In flight 2 all he had to do was cover Tommy to win. This he did and then some.

Both models were Eliminator 134's, but with slightly different wing sections. Early in the day Tommys' model had worked better, but in the almost windless fly off Andrews undercambered wing took top honours.

Thanks Keith I've been trying now for about 5 or 6 years to win this  :D
