Title: Building board
Post by: stephen.shannon on October 31, 2014, 23:23:46 PM
All, what's the recommended building board to use under a set of plans?

I've considered MDF but it's very tough for inserting pins so any guidance is appreciated

Cover the MDF with cork tiles.

if you can get it Stephen - Sundeala. The railway boys use it as track boards, still needs a perfectly flat backing board.

Cheaper, easier to get option is plasterboard again on a perfectly flat substrate

hi
i use a half width fire door , got from demolition site
as its fire door very flat , to cover i use foam board from art shop
pins go in easy and stick also easy to replace
its good size to build up to 4 metre wingspan (2 metre each wing )
