Title: Who Likes Big Boobies?
Post by: Happy Days on November 16, 2008, 17:11:58 PM
There,...... that made you click on this topic didn't it!

No I'm not talking about ladies breasts,  I'm refering to a combat wing produced by Wowings, (www.wowings.com )of Australia.
They sell a range of wings all named after sea birds.

I'm about to place an order for a Booby, if anyone else wants a plane from this company let me know asap and I'll order yours as well and we can save on the shipping costs. (No you wont get your wing free for christmas, :P)  I will ask you for some money for it!)

So come on you guys, who's up for some combat? are you man....... or mouse?

Keith.

p.s.
(I'm gonna phone Wowings around 4am tomorrow morning Irish time to check thier stock and order my plane. Your gonna need to let me know what you want this evening if you want your order included.)

Cheeky monkey!! :D
I'll send you a mail Keith. Maybe I'll get another Skua and keep it in case someone else needs a wing for combat! Maybe Brian, Alan or Nando might fancy getting involved too!

Okay,... this seems to have gerenated some interest, there have been quite a few viewings in the past hour or so.

(Mandy has just pointed out to me that the title should read Who not how...likes big boobies, but never mind........

Yea, there are other manufactures of cambat wings but I know the Skua can out fly my Zagi by miles.  So..... if you can't beat 'em.......join 'em! :D

I'm just hoping the Booby will out perform  Joe and Fred's Skua's
(Not that I only compete to win you understand  )

Can't wait till i put my hands on some... wings!
:)

Hey Keith how much would it be a Skua? I always wanted one.
And it's about time to retire my old SwiftII.

Hey Nando,

So you want to get your hands on a nice pair of.................  Wouldn't we all dear boy!

But turning to matters of flight

The export price of a Skue is shown as 109.00 au$
I'm guessing the shipping cost will be around 40au$ if I add your order to Joe's and mine. So say, in round figures, it will cost you 150 au$. That's about Euro 77 BUT................there might be import duty to pay :!:

It depends if the package gets through customs without being checked. (I've improted loads of stuff from USA  and never paid a cent of duty......but don't tell anyone I said that :( )

If we do get charged duty it's likely to be around an extra 20% so your skua should still come in for less than 100Euro (Though I'm not totaly sure of the duty rates from Oz)

Take a risk Nando,.....tell me you'll have one! and join the 'Men' of this club!

(I bet I'll get some flack for that statment :( )

Keith

I didn't get hit for duty when I got mine and Fred's Skua. You'll probably be only I'd imagine.
I wouldn't feel bad flying into you Nando if you have a Skua. I'm afraid I will break you other models!

Too late Nando,.....I've just placed the order.

However, after speaking to Wowings it turns out the guy makes these planes to order.
So.......................if you Do want to enter the world of combat with a chance of successfully beating Fred and Joe, (we could gang up on them and knock them out one at a time) let me know SOON.

I'm sure, if you asked Anna nicely, she would give you one for christmas.

(Skua, not Booby I mean   DOH!....I'm not going there any more. I'll leave this subject alone now, before I get into trouble
 )

Is his a forum for flyers or "Perv's?"

2 months ago I posted an article, on this forum, about Lithium-Ferrite batteries. In those Two Months it's attracted 150 viewings.

Yesterday eveing I posted an article entitled "Who likes Big Boobies" and it's had a hundered viewings in less than 12 hours!

Somebody tell me how that works! :?:

In the world of big business it's known as 'Marketing Strategy'. 8)

Hi Keith,
If it's not too late I'm in but for a Duck .
I'd prefer a good _uck anyday.
If its too late let me know.

Thanks for that Ron. I assume "market strategy" is the politically correct term for what I used to know simply as  "Sex" (Must remember to ask the wife for some market strategy in future. Maybe that's where I've been going wrong in the past! :?: )

Brian; are you serious about wanting me to order you a Duck? I seem to recall you telling me you had no interest in combat, and I've been on the receiving end of your practical jokes before!
You should be okay for a Duck as I've just had an email back from Wowings saying they can't start on the order for a day or two.

Come on guys,....Any more for Any more???

Ron, wouldn't you like to sample the delights of combat. It's good for the relflexes  It'll make you feel young gain :) I promise!
(Trust me, I'm a Doctor.)

Hi Keith,
Yes ,I may as well. I'll pay as soon as you know actual costs.
If there is going to be some combat and or foamie racing I would take part (if around) to make up numbers and for a laugh.
When in Rome and all that.

Okay Brian,......ordered,......One Duck, for the use of!

In fact. When I'm on the slopes, everyone "ducks" when I declare I'm about to land

Hi Keith,

Yeah, yeah, OK don't nag
You've twisted my arm (errr... metaphorically that is (whatever that means)), so I'll go for a Booby.
Yeah, really :D

As to actual combat... doesn't that need at least two people?
All I can find down here in the wilds of West Cork is seabirds (can't beat them) and sheep.

But one of these days I'll visit the far east.

Marketing strategy - that means selling one thing but promising something else.
Errrr.... think I've dug myself into a hole here
Title: Who Likes Big Boobies?
Post by: Happy Days on November 17, 2008, 17:03:47 PM
Good Man Ron!

(  I think I should be asking Wowings for a commission on these sales!)

I'll email them and increase the order to include your "Booby"

Just thinking Ron. If you've got sea birds near you, then you must have the sea near you as well. That means cliffs. That means laminar lift. Which is Beautiful
Maybe the "Far east" will come down to you one day. (Soon)

Right then, who else can I nag.

Alan, Peter, Sean, Dave K, none of you guys interested in a spot aerial wrestling? It's very invigorating, and like I said, we can all gang up on Joe and Fred. What FUN!
Title: Who Likes Big Boobies?
Post by: Ron on November 17, 2008, 17:16:22 PM
Thanks Keith

Sea and cliffs... well yes, plenty of sea though not many cliffs.
Mostly the land tends to slope down over huge rocks interspersed with bogs.
Though I must investigate the dunes at Barley Cove one day.

Ah yes.
Ganging up on Joe and Fred.
There had to be a good reason to head for the eastern hills, and that's it  8)
Lets see... with this westerly half gale, if I mount the spinnaker on top of the car it should take about 20 minutes

If i go for the W's i won't see any B's for a long time! :-)
The budget wasn't approved, i guess i have to re-enforce my flying toys in the mean time so i be prepared for Joe and Fred flying hammer's that knock the rest out of the skies!

Okay Chaps, I now have the costs for shipping what was a total of five models to Ireland.
Pete, (the guy who runs Wowings) was very grateful for such a large order and sends fraternal love and kisses to all members of I.S.R. And by the way would we like to give him another order for five models next month!

The total cost of shipping turns out to be AU$185, which I equate to around 95Euro. Divided by 5 (models) means we each end up paying 19  Euro shipping per model. (All the way from Oz, not bad eh?)

Pete is going to let me know the expected E.T.A in due course.

Cool or what!

Hey that's great Keith :o

So you're going to want about AUD 115 = €59.2985 + €19 = €78.2985 or call it about €80, from me.

But I guess that will depend upon the exchange rate as it keeps going all over the place lately.

Ron

Hi Ron,

Yeah, 78 will do just fine. (Provided we don't get hit for import duty  )I don't know exactly what exchange rate my credit card uses, but it aint gonna be far away from that figure.
Not too sure how to get your model to you. Do you come up to Co Wexford often? Or maybe one of the other ISR members might be down your way in the near future and you could meet up with him.
(Something to think about  :?: )

Anyway, I'll let you know the ETA date when I have it, Ron

Hi Keith,
A little imagination with the details on the documents should reduce any vat or duty.
Actually 'toys' are duty free.
Title: Who Likes Big Boobies?
Post by: Ron on November 19, 2008, 19:44:40 PM
Ah yes.
Big boys toys.

We'll work something out with collecting.
Lots of to-and-fro ing to the UK lately, by air, due to a family bereavement. But come January (or so) we'll have to do a car trip and bring back a trailer.
So we could call in on the way past.
Unless someone is coming down this way before that. :?:

How can I get the dough to you Keith?
Do you have a PayPal account perhaps?
Or PM me with your address and I'll bung a cheque in the post.

Ron
Title: Who Likes Big Boobies?
Post by: Happy Days on November 19, 2008, 20:47:54 PM
Yeah Ron, if you're passing through in Jan I could easily meet you in Rosslare, but that's a long time to wait for your Booby. We'll think about this some more. The misses and I might be coming down to Cork city at some time before then, although I'm not sure. Maybe we could meet you there. If I'm feeling extravagant I might even buy you a cup of coffee!
I have got a PayPal account Ron, but I'm yet to figure out how to raise an invoice to someone. I'm a bit of a Geek,....(or am I a Nerd? :?: ) when it comes to reading all the small print. There's no hurry for the money at the moment. And like I said we can't be totaly sure exactly what the final costs are going to be yet. But thank you for your eagerness.

Brian,. I have kinda hinted to Paul that items with a declared value of less than $75 for private addresses within the EU are not normally charged duty. But this is gonna be a big box, not sure if customs will 'swallow it.' I don't know if Paul fears under declaring the customs declaration incase he incures a penalty himself. (I spoke to his wife about it and she seemed a bit 'vague' on the idea)

Nando; well you've missed out this time round. You tell your Young Lady that I said you deserve a new combat model for christmas. :D  ( Although if your "other 'alf" is anything like mine, it wont make a scrap of difference :!: )

K.
Title: Who Likes Big Boobies?
Post by: Ron on November 19, 2008, 21:41:19 PM
Yep, OK Keith.
We are often in Cork, but lets wait and see how things go.
Thanks for the coffee, but it should be me buying you one with all this effort you're putting in

No problem on PayPal.
Invoicing is way beyond me I'm afraid, but if you need some to pay your card before we meet just say and I'll send some to your email address.

Nando... The trick is to find something that 'she' is doing/buying/treating herself to, and say you deserve something too.
Not easy as 'her' things seem to be necessities, whereas yours are just playthings :!:
Hmmm :?:

Hey Keith,

Well done for organizing the group order !

More EPP to try to destroy at the slope !!   :P

Ron, after talking with Joe, the Islandmodels shop will take care of the shipping of your wing to your door !  :D

So, no worries, the first one who see Keith will collect the wing and send it to you, just send me your address  :D

Would be a shame to have to wait that long to have fun !

Fernando.. Shame on you !  :P  Show who is the boss !

Well Fred, what can I say. :o
That's great.
Can't wait to throw it off 'my' local slope/rock-strewn-hill.
And somehow I'm determined to get over to see this wonderful 'Big L'.
Must have taken you a long time to clear all the rocks away

See PM for address.

I'm the boss in this house, and I've got my wife's permission to say so

No i had to be reasonable, i had still some models to finish and to fly.
I'm a slow builder... i mean slowww..... :)
The T1000 i just checked yesterday took me 1 Year to put in the year... that is a shame... and i have other models in the same stage. :(
True is in the mean time i came to IE so that delayed the things a bit.

But if i start seeing that the skies are dangerous i may get a epp wing!
Title: Who Likes Big Boobies?
Post by: Happy Days on November 21, 2008, 10:13:21 AM
Right then!

I'm told the parcel is on it's way

Pete has declared the value as $75 but quite rightly pointed out that should the parcel go "missing" the max claim value would be...........$75!

So,....... to add a degree of security I asked to have the package "tracked", all-be-it that this will add an extra $30 to the shipping charge. (I figure that $30 = 15Euro divided by 5 = 3Euro each.) I assume no one has any objection to that.

Now we just have to sit back and wait. :(  Isn't it exciting :D  (Bit like Christmas  )

Just as an aside; I've done a "womans thing" and changed my mind! Instead of getting a Booby, I've ordered a Skua 1500 (The racing version)

You see,......... I have a cunning plan :?:
I've modified my Zagi with alterations that are far too complicated for Joe or Fred to understand.  (CG, overall weight ect.) So instead of buying another combat wing, I'll have a racing one.
Now I'll be able to beat them in two classes!!!

(Well,.........I can dream can't I? )

K.

BY THE WAY Nando, When I'm flying, everywhere is dangerous. On the ground or in the sky!
Title: Who Likes Big Boobies?
Post by: Ron on November 21, 2008, 15:52:38 PM
Never was very good at waiting

OK on the tracking. Good idea.

Changing your mind?
At the last minute too.
And I'm not sure I like the sound of a 'cunning plan'.
But then as long as it doesn't involve a dead rat....

Actually, my EasyGlider went really fast last time out, and must have clocked up 20 or more G....
when it hit the bog

Maybe we could have a bog race :P

I've been tracking our package Lads, and it seems to be stuck in the network's Hub warehouse. :?:  It's been there for 4 days now!

I've sent an email asking when it's expected to ship out to Ireland, so far I've had no reply. (The time difference makes communication a little difficult.)
I'll advise you all when I've got some news.

As an aside,......... I have a cautionary tale for those who haven't already learnt the lession

Last Tuesday I was perched on the top of the North Slope of Mt. Lienster.
There I was, flying my Filip 400, happy as Larry. :D
As I was flying, I noticed a small cloud comming towards the hill about 200 feet beneath me. Didn't take any notice of it.
Next thing,.......I couldn't see the model   a moment later I couldn't see anything

And what was the out come of this event? you may ask.........The model crashed.
(Some things never change!)

Yippee,.........

All five models from Wowings arrived today. All the packaging is in good order, no dents or hard creases.

So,............ :?:  I think Joe is home from his travels in the next day or two so I can give him his and Ron's models when we meet on the slopes.
Brian, I dare say we'll bump into each other in the near future as well, so I can give you yours then. Or, if you want, Mandy and I are going into Enniscorthy tomorrow I could drop it round to you. (Give me a call)

As for reimbursement: The total cost of shipping turned out to be AU$215.00  This equates to (in round figures) EU109.00 Divide this figure by 5 models and we each end up paying EU21.80 for the shipping. (I pay that for shipping a model from the UK!)
The amount you each owe therefore is, of course, the export price of your particular model plus 21.80.
You can send me a cheque, pay through paypal, (which, as I've found, is incredibly simple) or good old fashioned cash.

So,...............lets get flying :D

Everyone is too quiet!

I wonder what is happening... is everyone building their wings?

Last weekend i decided to go to keelakee with mine, it's so nice when there are no nasty Skua's chopping epp bits. :D

But times are changing and future will bring a new batch of Skua's to the skies. The future is not too happy for my little Swift.
Title: Who Likes Big Boobies?

Hey Nando.

Nope, they aren't building their wings because I've still got them all at my place.
Brian is busy working, Joe has just moved house, and Ron hasn't let me know his address yet to post his Booby on to................And me?
My 'other half' won't let me assemble my wing because she says its a present from her to me and therefore I can't open the box till the 25th!

It seems your Swift has earnt a reprieve :D  If I were you Nando I'd keep practising with that little Swift. (Like a girl I once knew told me, "It's not what you've got that matters,........it's what you do with it!" )

Or.............  :D  If you're up for it   Why don't you join me on Mt. Lienster tomorrow. (Provided it's clear of cloud) It's not going to be particularly windy so it wont be too chilly. (Ambient temp of 5c with a 15mph wind = wind chill of around -1c.)
But cold air is dense air. Dense air gives more LIFT. And Lift is Lovely! :D
