Title: PSS Group build
Post by: Fred on October 08, 2018, 08:45:03 AM
Alright, so after our last meeting, looks like there is demand for a PSS group project.
I have listed a few, mainly some that I am currently working on, or already at different design stages, but the project is open to ideas and the stuff you like!

The PSSA Hurricane is a proven design, and readily available ( https://www.sarikhobbies.com/product/pss-hawker-hurricane-53/ )
The P51D will happen regardless as I have another project.
A-10.. Well, you so it flying
F86 - Started a simple design last year, but look at this month RCM&E, and you have a plan for one of them if I am correct.
Gloster Meteor... No comment Andrew!  >:D

Take in consideration the various building skills, time and material s needed for some of the projects.

Anyway, you asked for it, so here it is :) Shoot!

Hi Fred,

I am happy to go with the flow on this one. Always been a fan of the Learjet though.

Keep up the good work

Ralph

Fred, I think the why bothers will win this time! What do you think?

A slightly bigger P51 would be fun. Maybe 1200 to replace my old foamie one Ralph? Otherwise I agree, the Learjet could be fun. Options, options.....!

Hi Fred,
I would be happy to build anything in the list but would really fancy a learjet about 1200mm wing span a P47 would also be nice. I was thinking of scaling up the free plan in RCM&E to 200% could you suggest an air-foil to use?

Joe

Thanks Fred. Great suggestions. The F86 is my favorite jet of all time, so it was a simple choice for me. Never have done a chrome finish so that would be fun. The plans in RCME this month are a bit small but could be scaled up? The hurricane is a good option as you say since the plans/ wood pack etc are readily available. A fouga magister would have been nice too, but I know you’ve already been there done that! Loved the silver swallows........

Looking forward to the poll results

Conor.

Of course I had to click on Meteor, just for you Fred  >:D
But in reality a P47 or Learjet would be great!

There is always one!  ::)

Soooo, looks like so far, only 10 votes, with one marginal winner... so far! :)

Looks like a good winter build :) talking about that, saw this earlier, made me giggle :)

Alright so, looks like the people has spoken and have a winner. Tiny margin and unexpected one (for me anyway!)

Should I leave the poll run longer?
Some wants to change their mind?

I can change my mind too if you want...... maybe narrow the poll based on top 2 or 3?

Lear jets are all white, so maybe a bit boring unless one off. Need something where models look individual and have country, squadron markings.

Hawker Hunter,  A10 or Vulcan would be my choice.

Hmmm I stand corrected. The lear does look nice in some of those colours. Lear jet it is.

Did we make a decision on which we're going to try?

I'm liking the Lear Jet idea. Has it been chosen for the mass build?
If not, there is still time to join the PSSA 2020 mass build:

Well, mass build... If we get 2 done, that would be a massive achievement :)
I went back to it during the Christmas break. Wings are done, Fuselage is done. Working on the tail now, and trying to find an idea for the wing tanks  :-\

Hi Fred,
can you send me a full sized drawing of the tank and I will come up with something. I will build one for sure.

Cheers
