Title: BPLR Madslide
Post by: Scorpio on March 19, 2019, 23:34:45 PM
Hi JP,
Attached are the pdf plans for the BPLR Madslide we were chatting about over the weekend. There are two versions, 2.3m and 1.5m.

Link to model and details here: http://www.jivaro-models.org/madslide/page_madslide.htm

It's an oldish design (late nineties/early noughties) but a classic. Google translate does a nice job for non-french speakers  :)

All the best,
Conor.

I built one over 10 years ago. Nice flying model, but I binned it in a gale on Slieve Gullion, Northern Ireland. It was the guys I was flying with or the model, as it had got behind me and was coming forward at a fair lick, so full down elevator provided the solution!!

Conor,
what about this for a mass build? I was talking to Lazarus yesterday and he seems to be on the mend.

Good to see you at the weekend

Hi Ralph,
Yes was really nice to catch up with old friends. Mass build would certainly be cool. Hopefully it’s not too challenging to cut some wings. Have always wanted one of these (Nostalgia 😊) and I like the color scheme. My vinyl cutter will be put to good use.

Looking forward to next month,

Regards
Conor.

Hi Conor

Bill got me a set of plans for the model. The wings look ok for cutting, so what size of wing do you want. I will try to get them sorted for April at BigL.

Hi JP,
That’s fantastic and thanks to Bill for the plans!

Would go for the 2.4m. Go big or go home as they say 😊. I will build the smaller one also but at least the ribs are on the plans for that version.

Regards
Conor.

Hi John,

If you're cutting madslide wings, me too please.

It's been on my "most wanted" list for quite some time.

Hi Mad flyers.
If you need the DXF files to cut your vinyl, maybe I can help you.

Mine was a small version, full balsa.

Hi Jivaro,
That would really be a great help. I was wondering how I was going to do that.

Thanks

Conor

What size are you thinking? 1.5 or 2.3m?

I could ask Fred , nicely if he would cut a few(and JP)

Anyone else interested?

Like a big (original) Ahi? Or am I a heretic for drawing the comparison???

Tough decision Ralph.... would have to do both  :)

And yes Kevin..... that is absolute heresy. Naughty step for you!

Kevin, any chance you could print a few of each and I might get to make a start?

Cheers
