Title: Petrol ignition setup
Post by: Kevin O'Donoghue on January 23, 2021, 21:12:20 PM
Guys, I picked up a Seagull Decathalon before Christmas. I will fit a 20cc petrol engine and have some questions about the ignition system. I have a 2650 mah 2s lipo for the Rx. Ordinary servos (not HV) so I have a Jeti regulator to go between to drop the voltage.

Should I fit a second battery for the ignition? Or would I fit a BEC to feed the ignition? I’m thinking my Rx battery is likely too small for both and two separate batteries might be best?

What about a kill switch for the ignition as a safety feature?

I know a lot of this is preference and 20cc is still relatively small, but interested in peoples experience.

Thanks. Kevin

2nd battery for sure, or you will get interference in the rx from the ignition.

Give me a buzz if you want.
