Title: B52 mini “flat” PSS
Post by: Fred on January 22, 2023, 11:47:54 AM
I built something else before the Christmas break!

After seeing how the b29 went, I designed a few more using the same principles, and started with the B52.

Nothing much to say on the build really, nice and easy, although the wings were a pain to do because of that pronounced V, but other than that, like the B29, if you have a couple of days to spare, you can build it!

Fuselage is like the b29, front in 3mm plywood, back in 5x5, sheeted top/bottom. And that’s it really.
Elevator is all moving to keep it simple, made of 3mm balsa, so as the rudder (fixed, but can be made functional of course).

A few photos now 😁

hi Fred!  Any progress on this one?  Maybe a plan or a kit to be released please? :)

Hey Andy

Hope you are well :)

Yeah, finished actually. We have 3 built to do some testing etc, just need to change the way the wings are built as I find them fiddly, but other than that, fun little thing :)

We also have the B29, Lancaster and B24 in this format. Lancaster and B24 are the next builds, plans etc done for a year now, so time to glue some balsa and see how they go.
B29 is defo a winner, B52 close second, and like the B29, designed with the X15 to release as we had great fun with the Bell X1 (fun to watch and entertain the kids at the slope to catch it :) )

Kit will be release for all, but we stay in touch, might need a 4th proto built :)

First flight of number 3 yesterday by Nhalyn!

First comment: ça arrache sa mère! French expression, but basically, flies great 🤣

A quick test of the wing build, and we are sucking diesel!
