Slope Soaring / 2024 Subs

Hello Everyone,

just to give you all a heads up that club subs are back again this year at the cost to you of 10 Euro.

Payment at the first meeting next month in Mount L or I can take electronic payments which may suit some of you.

This is required to rejoin MACI, so please contact me if you wish to pay but wont make the March meeting.

Here we go again,

I am suggesting the 23 and 24th of March for our first meeting at Mount L
April 13th 14th Mount Leninster
 Bank holiday weekend Aerotow in Cork June 1st, 2nd and 3rd
Shannon MFC will hold the annual glider guiders’ gathering on Saturday 8th June on Tountinna.
July 12-14 Aerotow in Cork approved by the CMAC
August open to suggestions
September 21 and 22nd

Scale / Mibo Swift S1 restoration

Well a long time coming. My 20+year old Mibo Swift is in for a good cleanup. Hopefully I will get some inspiration and encouragement here.
Started by stripping the wings to recover. I hate this job....

A great day out with the 2 Kevins and 2 vintage Swifts, one Mibo and one Graupner (2.2M)

Plenty of flying and loads of craic.

Slope Soaring / Cork MAC funfly 2023, new event, All welcome

After an interval of several years the club will hold a fun fly event at the Brinny flying site.
The date(s) for the event are (weather depending) either Saturday August 12th. Or Sunday August 13th.

Matt Quin has been appointed coordinator on the day.

We are looking for volunteers/helpers on the day to:

    Help manage parking,
    Help with the flight line management
    Provide visitors with safety information
    Help with catering/BBQ
    If you're interested, please contact Matt or email me

Please spread the word, there is no admission charge and refreshments/food will be provided by the club.
Bring your Plane, Heli, Glider (or anything that will fly)

Looking forward to seeing you there. Please check the club website or MACI website for updates.

Slope Soaring / Cork Glide-in 2023

Hi Everyone,

looking forward to our next meeting on sat 1st and 2nd of July. Feel free to come on the Friday if you want but just drop me a line if you are doing so.

We will have 1 petrol towplane driven by me, a couple of Funcub XLs to tow up to 3M models. Bring your electrics, bungee models, what every you want.

Slope Soaring / Achill 2023

I have been very lucky to be able to catch up with some friends , some of who I have not seen in over 2 years.

Pascal, Ronan, Serge and Fred. We have flown, eaten and drunk to our hearts content .... and a bit more for the lsat few days.

Alas it is my time to return home but I wish my friends a great weeks flying and some great weather in the future for them too. 

I'll add a few pics later but for now Bon Vols mes amis.

If anyone has any other suggestions please feel free to add.

April 29, 30, May1?? Just an idea seeing as it is a bank holiday

Aerotow / Frisch Wilga restoration

About 2 years ago I was asked to find homes for a bunch of large powered planes and I thought to my self, how hard could that be?

Anyway the Wilga was to go to Fred but alas when he saw the size of it, he retreated.

So about 2 weeks ago I though I would cut the tailplane off and put it in my attic, with the many wonders that are already stored there. then I decided to take the UC off and now I have decided to refurbish it and hopefully fly next year as a tug.

Here are some pictures of the work so far.....
