I've decided to strengthen the wing joiner setup as it's not good enough for the size and weight of model
I've stripped out some of the formers and going to replace with new wood and wing joiners

I was given this 1/4 scale Capstan recently that was built by a good friend of mine about 20 years ago
I flew it today and I noticed that the wings were flapping like a seagull
The main wing joiner is a 15mm steel rod in a brass box
How do I stop the wing flexing  it's really bad

This year's event will be held at the Buzzards Flying Club at the Causeway Airfield.

I've made winglets for the ASW 20
They are added to the wing extensions which I have to join to the main wing my big concern is can the tips be too heavy and effect the glider in flight

Yes John I watched the videos and have learned a lot
I can see me building a few more FF models I love the simplicity of the buliding and love working with the tissue and dope
I haven't weighed the models yet I've two Tomboy's built and have one more to go plus a Simplex 
I'll get some pictures posted soon

I'm totally new to flying free flight models although I've been building and flying rc models for donkeys years
I've built two Vic Smeed's Tomboy's and one is being powered by a Mills .75 and the other by a Paw 1cc
My big question is does free flight models have and elevator
I've used thin aluminium as a hinge for the rudder do I do the same for the elevator

I still have the wings and tailplane of the skylark to finish I usually work with natural and then spray the covering
I'll have to measure up what it would take to finish the job
