HI all

I have been busy over the last few months, with projects and pss kits so I only got to post a few quick comments here on the forum. However, here is what I have for 2015.

This is a ARC foka 4, 5m glider I ordered from one of my french pals and picked up in sept 2014. Hope to have it finished for March at big L for a test flight, however, it is for glider towing with Andrew's new titan towplane later this year.
I also have an L213  4m to start as soon as I get the wings cut.

I have been doing some ship modelling over the past 3 months with Bill and wayne, which is different from the planes, but enjoyable, Mainly for model shows and displays.

Just finished this Type 43 frigate 1/72 scale, with smoke, moving gun, rotating radars and heli rotors. It is a big ship at 1.9m length.

Hope to see you all on the slopes soon!!

OK weather looks fair for tomorrow but cold with  big winds, so some of us are meeting at 12 - 12.30 pm in the carrickdale hotel carpark, then meeting the rest of the pilots, on the mountain.

Hi Oeshy

As fred has mentioned, I would be the closest to you location, living just outside Armagh, which is about 30mins form Monaghan town centre.

A group of slope pilots from the local model club, are meeting this Sunday at Flagstaff mountain, just outside Newry on the M1 motorway. If you are interested in coming to this meeting, I can meet you at the carpark of the Carrickdale hotel just of the M1 motorway. At the moment the weather forcast is not good, therefore I will post on Saturday evening, if the event is going ahead, and if so, what time to meet up, If you have any questions you can contact me on 07745458755.

Hi Fred/Ronan

Complete and install the wings first, as they will act as a guage for the V-tail alinement.

As for the V-tail support, the bottom of the block sits on the bottom of the inside of the fuselage at the tail, any ply sticking up from the v-tail support slot, can be removed when the block is glued in place.

To get the correct v-tail alinement, place a strip of wood across the top of the two fins, and move the ply wire block, forward/back or side to side, to get this strip of wood level or horizontal with the wings looking down the nose of the fuselage see pic:

Fred can you translate for Ronan!

Well done Ronan, 4th place at marcon on a maiden flight, and only a few points off 2nd place. The MB-339 flew well in the video and you had sun and wind, can you send some good weather our way over in Ireland, just rain, rain, and more rain. :(

Rubber Print Design / Embroidered Goodies, anyone interested?
« on: March 29, 2014, 22:26:16 PM »
Yes Fred

I would like a few polo shirts and a jacket of some kind, with a gliderireland or Islandmodels or even Islandslope Rebels!

I am sure we could design a nice logo. The t-shirts we got done a few years ago, with the various answers to glider questions on the back, where great, Anthony did a fantastic job with these.

Hi All

Well I got home in the end, had to stay a few more days at moss house, until my car was fixed. I broke a spring and the top end of the Shock on the front drivers side wheel, due to a big pot hole on Saturday. I would like to thank Ralph and fred for all there help and to little Keith, who taxied me around on Monday looking for car parts, also to the guys at james tomkins garage in Gory, who worked on the car and got me back on the road.

O.k. well apart from the expensive car problems, the weather did not part ball for us on both days, however, the craic was great and it was nice to meet up with some old friends and make some new friends as well. The winds on Saturday hit over 100km/hr on the top of the south slope, and of course, there were some this did not stop us trying to fly in the wind!!!!

Ralph and myself try to get onto the top of the slope!

Well if we can not fly gliders, lets try body gliding!!

looping fred gets into the air

Fred and I managed to fly the wee ME 109 PSS glider in 100km/hr winds :?:  :?:

After the madness on the slope, we came together for a group photo, great turn out for the saturday event 16 pilots.

Fred and Ralph have another go at flying off the west slope, but no joy :!:

Ed and I tried a PSS ME 262 but again no joy, back to the drawing board with this model.

Roisin my good wife, had a great dinner ready for us at Moss house on Saturday night and even provided a few toy gliders to keep us amused

So not much flying, but a good laugh and great company, se  you all in September.
