Hi everybody,

This is this time of the year again!  :D
ISR club membership are now due.

As usual, the Club fees are a whooping 0€ and MACI insurance is 70€ this year.
Please contact Peter (see post on top of that one) for the renewal.

Of course, new members are more than welcome, and glider pilots all over the country can register for the insurance.

Also, if you regularly fly a slope, please let me know, and we can add it to the MACI register via the club, this will have you fully covered by your insurance (we never know).

Any questions, as usual, let us know :)

Hello fellow club members, and club members to be  :D

It is this time of the year again!

Existing members should already have received an email from Peter for the renewal (thanks Peter   ).

For the flyers who want to join, please let me know.
Fees this year are MACI 72 euros - Club registration fees : 3 euros - Total 75 euros.

Please note, just to be clear, the 3 extra euros is to pay for the annual club registration fees for the club to the MACI (40 euros a year).
Last year, Peter kindly paid the 40 euros fees, and the previous years, I used to pay them.
This cost will now be divided between all club members. This is a very, very small increase of what we usually pay (MACI insurance) but if anybody have an issue, or a question, please let me know  :D

Whatever is over, if we have a euro or two, will be spent in BBQ food! How's that for good return in investment!?  :D

The club itself is still free, and will remain this way  :D

Also, Peter, after 2 years in the secretary job (and a great job at that, I don't remember we were that organised before!     ) would like to pass the job to another member.
Position in the club is now for grab! Low wages, extensive working hours etc etc, but occasional flying
Anybody interested, please let me know (you can even get a badge that say "club official" or something like that if you want. Good for the girls too!

And again, many thanks to Peter for his help as Secretary in the last 2 years

As one of my teacher use to say, there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers!  :D
So, hopefully, my reply will not be too stupid

is it illegal to fly without insurance.

Yes. A bit like your car. You can drive without insurance, just don't get caught or have an accident..
Now, if you don't have one, you will not go to jail etc etc, but let say you are buying peace of mind.

is it illegal to fly in a public park etc.

Big yes on that one. And even with insurance. You will not be covered as the place you fly need to be a registered RC flying site. Rangers for example, can ask you to leave. You can also get fines etc etc. This is enforced a bit more these days because of all the Quadcopters etc etc that are flying all over the place without any regards to common sense.

This is a quick answer, I am no expert on this sort of things. I fly in remote places where chances to crash into object and people are quiet slim.. But I have my insurance and registered the flying sites. If something bad happen, I know I will have backup :)

Anyone interested, please let me know! Very little to do, just be the name / address to send the MACi memberships forms/money.
And you can impress the girls with a cool job title :)
