Sniper on your tail
« on: June 16, 2009, 21:22:38 PM »
This is the Sniper from JK Aerotech. I have had it for about 8 years, and never put the radio gear in. After last saturdays combat I am gonna fix it up and blast that feckin Mustang out of the sky...
And for back up. We took drawings off it this evening and Ger Buckley will be cutting out 2 more for himself and his son Declan. Then we will gang up on you lads in the East. World War III will commence.
Better get some serious practice in.... :?:

Be afraid....be very afraid.

D.
At least we walk towards our crashes and not run screaming from them ;)

Happy Days

Be afraid! Who are you kidding?

I have to say, I'm glad you lads of the west are getting into this combat idea, as you found out, it's great fun.

I've never flown against a "Sniper" so that will be a new experience. It had better be strong Dave...........very strong!

As for blasting the P-51 remember..................you've got to hit it first. With Fred at the controlls, and Joe and me as 'wing men' that might not be so easy. So get practicing..........you're gonna need it

Keith :D
Try not to run out of airspeed, altitude and ideas....... all at the same time.

Hey Dave
Was checkin out the sniper on the JK aerotech website earlier. Looks good! And fast! Is it EPP or Extruded polystyrene Dave? If it's polystyrene we might see some foam snow falling next time!

Great to hear you lads are getting some machines together. The more the merrier. The more planes the more targets. It's every man for himself and all against the Frenchie!!   sorry Fred

We'll bring the poles and the buzzer next time and we could have some man on man racing with the the foamies if you fancy?! Could be fun!

Just to avoid any confusion. When I said "man on man" I meant 2/3 people racing at the same time!

:?:  Too late! You already said waaaaaayyyy too much!

So, there is a league against the French is that it ?

Shame Dave, the Sniper looks good, will be a shame to completely destroy it  :P  :P
I'll prepare a new weapon, a sort of "Buns killer"  :P

No seriously, good to see you guys taking interrest into combat!
And that can also be a good time to try racing each others for more fun!  :D
Education is important, but flying RC planes and gliders is importanter!

Joe, Not sure what it is made of. It is definitely not the white polystyrene stuff. It is a pink foam. and looks to be quite a dense material. Is this EPP?? I don't know. No experience with foamies.

I assembled this about 8 years ago but after looking closely at the combat wings and freds heavily re-inforced juggernaut mustang I think JK Aerotech designed this in the early days of slope combat. Some modern upgrades will have to be made.

To that end I have ordered a 4mm carbon tube to act as a full length wing spar. Also some fibreglass re-inforcement on the nose and wing leading edge is definitely in order. The ailerons are just foam covered in packing tape. Will replace this with the plastic depron stuff that the V tail is made from. It should be pretty strong. Never flown it so I have no idea how it will perform. But who cares anyway I just want to smash into fred.... :P

I might fit a bun drop mechanism just to drop cream bomb buns on Kieths head....
