September fly in at the big L
« on: September 18, 2014, 09:53:25 AM »
So I haven't see a thread about the September fly-in yet (been checking the forum daily) and as I am not even a member of ISR it should not be up to me to create one

However I can barely contain my excitement, it has been far too long since I have done some proper sloping. What is the plan for this years event? Where are people staying (probably booked out by now)?

This year I am planning to bring the v-tail glider that was never finished for the April glide in. A `micro` quark that I have been thinking about recently and possibly the fpv wing I built sans motor and fpv equipment.

However the most pressing issue for me Is whether the BBQ is still going ahead? Do we need to bring our own sausages???????

Sorry did you not get the memo. BBQ moved to France. Fred is in France and will be back for the end of the month. Sausage burger and beer should be here too. Dont worry all will be great. And we are all ISR members here in some shape or from.

Bill, so glad you’ve returned to the fold. We shall be expecting to see great things from you at the meeting. (No pressure then!  :P )

Er,.... excuse me Mr. O’Sullivan but did I see a thing known as a propeller on the front of that model in your picture?!

Just to let you know that anyone caught cheating ( using a propeller) at the glide-in faces a fine.   Normally in the form of buying the drinks in the hotel for the whole of that night. (Don’t say you haven’t been warned! )

And Andy,………yes,…..A certain woman is eagerly awaiting your “Special Load” 8)  ……(Stop being disgusting , JP   )

‘Jumbo’ we are all ‘members’ of the IRS. You don’t have to ’become’ a member, just turn up at the glide-in’s, and or contribute to the forum,…….and that’s it! We are just a group of like minded ‘waifs & strays’ of the aero model fraternity.
As for where to stay,……normally guys stay in a B&B in Bunclody which I think is called Moss House.
Hope you’re not going to get too excited about this event. Perhaps you’d better bring some tissues with you, :( ….. just in case.

And yes, I shall be there. (Don’t all start crying!!!) Don’t know what I’ll be crashing. Won't be the Alpina. I launched it the other week without switching the rx on first….you can guess the rest.

I consider walking without sticks to be pretty great
Have a new Phase 5 to maiden and if I get my finger out I might get the Fly Fly Condor ready in time.

Ah,….a Phase 5.

I’ve never actually seen one ‘in the flesh’.

From pictures it looks rather sleeker than the Phase 6. I’ll be interested to see it’s performance. Full house wing version Bill?

Oh, I see, it has a high wing, rather than the mid-wing of the P6.
I shall have to give it a thorough inspection next weekend Bill!

Really looking forward to the weekend, it may be my last for while, went back college this week so time'll be limited here after..... I'm going to maiden my DG1000, so will be seeking some experienced hands for a once over before throwing it to the mercy of the slope.... :D  :D
