Education is important, but flying RC planes and gliders is importanter!

Well I have started to assemble my K8b, long gathering dust in a corner. Its a Seagull models kit. The air brake linkage geometry drove me to a glass of the second picture, my Christmas present. Fred, dear God, would you please drink a proper drink!!!!! :)

I won the competition in RCM&E earlier this year for a short of the F86 Sabre being used as this years PSSA Mass Build  8)
As I've now got some time, I made a start on it. The wing jig is as complicated as some models I've built over the years (and I'm sure Fred will be glad to know the quality of cut & fit isn't as good as his)

Hi Bill. Looking forward to seeing this. I’ve been reading the magazine articles and it looks great when complete. I don’t see a bottle of cough syrup to accompany the build tho!!!! I’d be expecting Bushmills!

As well as the Sabre, also working on a Kostez. Couldn't resist a little "garden" fly today (too big for a bench fly!). Lots tsill to do, tailplanes and rudder need cut, and ailerons need redone as traikling edge damaged through sitting in garahe too long. Then install & paint  :D

Little stand knocked together to hold the Kostez fuz when I'm working on it. Recycled an old Ikea shoe rack for the wood. Tight Scotsman to the end!!

A 'little' more done on the PSS Sabre this weekend (struggling for enthusiasm!) All ribs & spars now on the bottom skin, shear webs still to go in before top skin gets added. Think I'm going to use torque rods and 2 centrally mounted servos rather than servos in the wing. Keep the wing surfaces cleaner

Ralph said to put up some pictures for Fred, so here’s the Ka8, just waiting for some servo extensions leads to connect up the radio and balance it. I still have some good 35meg gear so she will fly the old way! I’ll post a pic with wings on when finished. ;)

And one more. This is a Speedo Pro Mk2. I bought it in 2012 I think but finally took it out of the box. It should be fun.

The Speedo's were good value and good flyers. Just one word of caution - you don't need to wear budgie smugglers to fly them :)
