Hi Aidan,
Thanks, I've just ordered some 8x4 & 8x4.3's.
The new packs may be part of the problem as well, my 5000's always take 10 to 15 cycles to get going properly.
The ESC default is 'soft' so I'll try medium later in the week.
This indoor flying is good fun, a real do or die scene.

Make an effort for Fri,, .We got a good deal on the hall but we are the 2'nd cousins there,with GAA activity coming first.
Our official time is 7 to 9 but we may be able to squeeze in after 6.00pm.It would be a pity if you missed out.
Any interest in Sun,, mornings ??.

Hi Aidan,
I got those props today.
You are correct about the out of balance.
However they do seem to pull more but the motor gets warm quickly at high power level. I hope it will be ok.
We'll see of Fri,, or Sun,, .
It will take 30 mins approx for you to get over.

Hey Brian, here’s an idea to get your motor running as efficiently as poss…………

Fit the prop that you want to fly with, and measure the rpm of the prop while also measuring the current being drawn from the battery, at a given throttle setting.
Change the timing and check both prop speed and current drain again.

I’m thinking that the timing setting that produces the lowest current drain for a given prop speed must be the most efficient one. :?:

Dessie, :shock: …….what are you doing on this forum???

THIS forum is for civilized pilots, not power hungry morons who fly “Breezes” at people! :lol:  :lol:   (Not that I can talk, following my performance last Sunday. :oops:  :oops: )

My new  plane still hasn’t arrived. Don’t think I’ll be flying indoors this Friday night I’m afraid. :cry:

It should be fine providing you're not spending long at full throttle. I'm sure that won't be a problem indoors but be careful if you fly it outdoors too.

Hi K,
       I'm feeling very hurt that you called me a 'moron' (person with a mental age between 8 and 12) you are pretty accurate and I hope I never grow up, cos if I do, what will I do with all the toys I have in the garage!!!!!

I heard you got a new plane and are building, what is it? and any chance you'll be ready for fri night.

1/Give them to ME of course! :D

2/It’s a Pipe……………….. Bipe. Seeing as how slow, is the way to go, I thought nothing flys slower than a Biplane. And anyway, why fly a plane with one wing when I can fly a plane with two!

Wing = 755mm
Weight……probably around the 170g mark
Motor = E-Flight 250 weighing 14g with a  2200Kv swinging an 8x4.3 prop
Battery = 2S 450mah
EPP fuse with Depron flying surfaces.
Slight ‘fly in the ointment’ is that the dam plane only arrived today. SMC promise me that the motor, esc, props and servos will be with me before the weekend but I’m not sure that means I’ll be flying Friday night. Will you be all right? without me there to hold your hand! :lol:

K,
  Not sure if I'll be ok without u, or even with you there, Thats a lot of building in one day if the bits arrive. But I still hope to see ya there.
  Really looking forward to this weekend flying, finding it lots of fun.

I ordered a plane etc for Brendan should have all the bits by Friday, so he should be ready to go by friday next, he wanted the Kosmos and I got one for myself for when I write off the Breeze Pro. will try to take some video clips etc on friday and sunday so we can post them.

Kosmos from Topmodel, in France. Very sensible. :clap:

Incidentally I like the little “stick” practice plane they sell. I could fly one of those without any problems at all! (I think) :oops:

I noticed that the building instructions are in pigeon English….Good luck!
I’ve got the same problem with my Pipe. i.e. “Secure rudder servo to fuse.” I’m left thinking, “Okay, but where should I attach the servo to the fuse? And how should I attach it?” :roll:

(I mustn’t be nasty about Frenchmen,……..The moderator of this Forum (Fred) is French. He’s also designing me a glider……..when he gets the time!) :wink:

Don’t think I’m gonna be there Friday Dessie,………..See y’ Sunday.

Hi guys,

I might try and swing by tomorrow night for a while if that's okay?
I'm planning to move from Kilkenny to Clonmel (where I work) and I'm having a look at some rental places after work but if I'm doing okay for time and I'm not knackered after that I'll head over to Kilteally.
If not I'll see you Saturday....
