control line laystraight wire
« on: May 21, 2012, 00:30:18 AM »
Hi all,
Reliving my youth with my brothers, yes  we are building control line combat wings Dominators to be precise with PAW diesel engines to fly combat together as we did in the early seventies. Question is, can the wire be obtained anywhere in Ireland?
John.

In a word, NO.

PAW still sell 'Staystrate' to the best of my knowledge (http://www.eifflaender.com/)
You may get it from some of the UK on line suppliers, e.g inwoods, sussex, but the last time I got any was from PAW.

These days stranded steel cable is more popular, but then again I don't fly combat.

au contraire mon frere,
Hí John and Chris, I have some laystrate if you want however as Chris suggests modern stranded lines are safer and last longer. I can give you enough to make your leadouts if you want? You can order lines from Noel Barrett in Cork who can supply Sullivan lines for combat.
