The 22-23 May 2010 was our first official slope meeting of the year (after our PSS event in March).
The forecast was to low wind, but lots of sun ! Lots of people decided not to travel because of the low wind conditions, even if we can guarantee big thermals with these conditions. Anyway, with 4 pilots, the Saturday started slowly and was mostly thermal early in the morning, the wind picking up big time on the SW slope (20km/h, 30km/h + gusts). What a change for once to fly in t-shirt, lying on the grass ! And dry ! :) Flying stopped that day at around 1pm for a BBQ down to the car park. You said great day ?? Even Mr Whippy was here! Flying resumed at around 2pm, with even more wind, and more flying ! Left the slope a 6pm, tired, but with a big smile ! Everybody's happy with the day, and for me, one of the best week end I had since last year ! Sunday morning, was at the slope at 9am, and putted a good fight with the Algebra, when I went scratching the tree tops down to the valley, and after around 20 minutes of that, finally managed to come back to the horizon, a few turns, victory roll, and landing ! Happy ! Best flying hour I had in a long time! Keith joined me at around 11am, then, crossed Alan on my way down to get home... All in all, a fantastic week end ! Only a very few photos, no videos I'm affraid as there was nt a lot to show apart from the usual. Next meeting in September! :)
