Multiplex Servo MS-X4
« on: July 09, 2012, 09:17:17 AM »
Does anyone know where I can get a Multiplex servo MS-X4 (part # M65141). They are used in Alpina wings among other places.

The only place I can find that claims to sell them is Hobby Stores UK, but they are out of stock.

I’m struggling here lads :!:  so any help would be appreciated :) .

hi keith, i'm afraid i can't help you with mx-4's, but i'm wondering if you specifically want these servos or if you have considered any alternatives such as those from futaba or hi-tech.   might be easier to find.

Yup, I’m fast coming to the same conclusion, Gerry

As you know the Alpina, which has quickly become my favourite ‘large model,’ has a socket in it’s wing which the MS-X4 fits perfectly into.

I’ve found that the Hitech HS 82MG fit’s almost as well but is just a little bit loose. Nothing that a bit of packing won’t cure of course, but I thought I’d have a go at trying to find the original servos.
I’ve looked and looked but can’t find an ‘X4’ anywhere, so I guess I’ts gonna be an 82MG or nothing! :(

Have you tried the Multiplex main site Keith to see if it's been superceded by another servo? You should be able to look at the specs and see if there's another Mpx servo the same size and speed

I think it's

Thanks Bill, I have checked Multiplex Germany and also Multiplex America, just to see if they had any old stock, but the answer is no on all fronts.

The HS 82 MG is a little bit faster, has much the same torque but with metal gears, (the X4 has nylon gears) so all in all the ’82 is a superior servo,……..just a little bit smaller.
So I’ve “bitten the bullet” and ordered a couple of 82’s from Servo Shop. Hopefully the Apina should be air worthy some time next week. :D
