I hope I'm allowed to do this, but I don't feel like re-typing the whole thing, so here goes:  a link to my post on the Thorn: http://www.rcmf.co.uk/4um/index.php?topic=42039.0

cool,

well done, it sounds like a lot of fun, shame Mweelin was in cloud, it would have been great up there?

I am now waiting for the same sort of wind to try my Whisper, with its new super strong (and Heavy) carbon wings, the whole model weighs in at 2.3kg now (20oz/sq ft wing loading) which should make it quite exciting....

Fear and loathing 2 coming soon.....
Speed is everything style is nothing...

Can't wait!

Keep us posted!

I tried the Thorn again today at Tralee Golf Course.  I've discovered that you probably need a minimum of 25 knots for it to work........  More replacement wing bolts are needed....  I'm sure the HD Whisper will work in less wind than that!

Chris :D

Hi Chris,

Tested ok here, but you have a file size limitation (550 x 550 pixels)
I always put a bit less (500).

Well, I tried to reduce some photos of the Thorn to below 500 x 500, and they are so small, not sure if you can see anything:
