Impromptu session today near Finure, just east of Roches Point, the entrance to Cork harbour. Heard Alan was in East Cork so we went exploring slopes with Ralph. Great chat, loads of foamie flying.

Nice slopes to explore in the future with good landing spots for scale models.
Thanks again for the invite East, it was a good day.

looks a nice slope and good smooth sea air

Thanks again Kevin and Ralph. It was a nice afternoon’s flying.

More than welcome any time Alan. Will you apologise to your folks for me, for not coming back for a cuppa?!
Nice smooth lift alright Bill but the gradient is shallow so the compression zone is weak if I’m to sound all fancy about it!!!!! Great for a foamie or something efficient but you’d need a right blow I think for something like a Swift or a Fox. We flew in the foreground but the slope away in the distance in the last pic looks better. We met the land owner and she was grand about us flying there if her horses were out of the field.
Plenty more slopes to explore now that the lads have me motivated.

Shallow slopes tend to just flatten out in a good blow, so you probably got the best you're going to get
