About 2 years ago I was asked to find homes for a bunch of large powered planes and I thought to my self, how hard could that be?
Anyway the Wilga was to go to Fred but alas when he saw the size of it, he retreated.
So about 2 weeks ago I though I would cut the tailplane off and put it in my attic, with the many wonders that are already stored there. then I decided to take the UC off and now I have decided to refurbish it and hopefully fly next year as a tug.
Here are some pictures of the work so far.....

Great to see Ralph. One of my favourite planes. Would love to have bought a Black Horse 20cc Wilga but not available now. Can't wait to see it fly......

Looks like you have your work cut out for you.
Looking forward to seeing it fly. Maybe you can tow my Vega, if I ever finish it

Thanks Alan,
hoping for Early spring, or as soon as I can spray the fuselage.
Big model but easy to work on with power tools!!
Vega I thought you had that done, or was that the Slingsby???

More sanding this evening

A bit more work this week. Finished the sanding on the fuse and cowl. What a pain. Thank goodness for the motor tools here. A few small glass repairs today and then to start on the wood work inside the fuse.

The cowl.

10/8/01 was the original build date, 21 years later still plodding along.
