Just finished the DG808 today. Overall it was a quick build, with  just a few changes made not covered in the plan. It did take also 1 1/2 lbs of lead in the nose to balance it on the Cof G recommended,

I will hopefully give the model a test flight next weekend if the wind is on my local slope.

Hi Ralph

I found this glider on a heli store website.. www.trexmad.co.uk, I had seen the glider on RC groups, however it was not available in many of the u.k. model shops. The store owner is called Simon, he flys helis and gliders, nice guy to talk to, very helpful.

Thanks Richard for the great photos of the DG 808. Lift tonight on the slope was just fantastic, enjoyed the flight, one smooth glider to fly.

We will have to get the rest of you guys up to N.I. for some great flying.

So,……….that’s an 808 er? A wheel in the tail as well! Do you guys have runways to land your gliders on in NI? (Very posh) 8)

To show my ignorance John, is she designed for light winds or will she fly in strong conditions. Any good for DSing?

Nice pictures as well…………….

Hi Keith

The 808 is a smooth model to fly. We flew last night in wind speeds of 21mph gushing to 27mph, the glider did not want to come down. Now that the CofG is sorted, she should fly in lighter winds. The only down side of this glider is the poor roll rate, the control surfaces are not at the tips, so she requires a large amount of throw, with added rudder mixed in (I use 60% mix), still the glider looks good in the air with a good speed range.

Hi Keith we have a very long runway, the type they used to use in land speed records lol.

Hi Fred , these are the small cliffs !
I flew of the large cliffs on Monday and it was unreal the amount of lift I was getting.
You really have to make it up to visit us and have a bit of fun on the North Coast and the Sperrin Mountains.
I need a beer drinking buddy lol

that was good crack
when i done the loop i remembered this model has a crap roll rate   the downhill is some spot when the winds from the north
you might only get that maybe twice or three times a year but it's worth the wait  :)
